Guidance Office Scholarship Information

The Guidance Office will have a scholarship folder available for students to view scholarship offers and materials received to date. The following are available:

• Burger King
• Horatio Alger Association Essay Contest
  
• The American Legion Oratorical and Essay contest (applications in the guidance office)
• Prudential Insurance (Or visit www.principals.org)
• If a student owns their own business, the McKelvey Foundation Scholarship
  
• Big 33 - visit the Big33 website or register through your counselor. Summer Camps available.
  
• The American Legion PA State Police, and a Boys and Girls State Camp.

Dual Enrollment Deadline

GJHS Students: Dual Enrollment Deadline Wednesday, October 15th. The deadline for Dual Enrollment applications is Wednesday, October 15th. Please turn your application and payment into Mr. Lucas by this date.

Engineering Scholarship

SAE is offering more than 60 corporate and university sponsored scholarships to qualified students who are interested in the study of engineering and related sciences. Applications are accepted September 1st through December 1st and must be postmarked by December 1, 2008. Teacher of the Year Award

Robert Curcio, the PC Maintenance teacher at Greater Johnstown High School, recently won the "Teacher of the Year" award granted by Wal-Mart. An anonymous student nominated Mr. Curcio for his hard work and dedication in the classroom. The reward for winning the award was a hundred-dollar personal gift card, as well as a thousand dollar card for classroom use. Mr. Curcio has already planned to use this money for a new server, or a large computer dedicated to providing services over a computer network.
